A graduate of the School of Medicine at Kyungpook National University, he has also trained at the University of Leeds in England, UK and is a professor of the Hair Transplantation Center at Kyungpook National University Hospital.

Dr Kim also has professional memberships of the Korean Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, the Korean Society of Aesthetic Surgery and the Korean Hair Research Society.
