Dr Hector Sastre has had a lifelong interest in plastic surgery – his inspiration his father, Dr Nicholas Sastre Ortiz, an eminent plastic surgeon. Pursuing his dream, he graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, studied general surgery and then plastic and reconstructive surgery under the guidance of Dr Fernando Ortiz Monasterio at the General Hospital of Mexico.
He has expertise in a number of specialist plastic surgery disciplines, including cleft lip and palate, as well as patients with burn injuries and facial fracture management.
Dr Sastre’s pursuit of clinical excellence leads him to take part in courses across the world, and particularly in the United States. He has certification with the Mexican Council of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Mexican Association of Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
