Oasis of Hope Hospital is a long-established facility in Tijuana, Mexico serving travelers for more than 60 years.
Founded in 1963 by Dr. Ernesto Contreras, the hospital combines cancer-focused programs with general, orthopedic, and bariatric surgery. The campus offers around 60 patient rooms and hospital-based services (ORs, ICU-level support, labs, imaging), with a bilingual care team and concierge-style coordination for cross-border visitors.
Oasis of Hope Hospital is in Tijuana, Baja California—minutes from the San Ysidro and Otay Mesa crossings. Most patients fly into San Diego International Airport (SAN) and transfer 30–45 minutes to the border; clinic-arranged transport can meet you on arrival. Travelers using Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) may prefer Cross Border Xpress (CBX), a pedestrian bridge that connects San Diego directly into the TIJ terminal. Rideshares like Uber and Lyft operate widely in San Diego; Uber is common in Tijuana. Wheelchair access is available on site.
Reserve through Medical Departures for quotes, availability, and travel support. Coordinators can arrange airport transfers, confirm payment methods, and provide day-of-care instructions and hospital check-in details.

Very good hospital, the care, and attention are excellent.
A magnificent hospital, all the staff is attentive and efficient with an excellent medical list.
Very good attention from allt he staff that works at this hospital, I recommend it.
had gastric Sleeve on June 29 2017. From the first time I contacted the hospital the staff were very kind. Answered all my questions. Made me feel safe and comfortable before I even arrived. They had all transportation arranged both ways. The hospital was quite and clean almost like a resort. Treated me and my companion amazingly. My surgery went perfect. I had a great team and would recommend them to any one. All staff were very knowledgeable. Nurses, house keeping, kitchen staff all did a wonderful job to make sure all our needs were met. The hospital administer took the time to visit with me. I had a concierge who made everything feel like it was about me being treated good. No matter what I asked her she took the time to meet with me. I had mentioned I wanted to visit a few places while I was staying in the hospital. She made arrangements for a private tour and made sure I saw everything I wanted to. At one point I was a little concerned about my mom who was with me. I mentioned it to Patty my concierge, she arranged to have a doctor meet with my mom. And all of my moms needs were met. The day of our arrival my mom had fell. We just wrapped her hand with a wrap. She was walking down the hall with me and a doctor stopped her to look at it and made sure she was ok. Wow! My program was very clear and it was made clear that I had direct direction on what to do before and after surgery. So grateful for this life changing experience and for all those involved.
I and my family had a great experience at Oasis! It didn't feel like a hospital. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The community treatment room is something else- the spiritual treatment there is as wonderful as the infusions we received through our IV. As a patient, I felt so protected and well cared of at Oasis. I also so enjoyed your talks, Pastor Daniel.
